The existing retaining wall behind the client’s property had deteriorated over time and was beginning to raise concerns around long-term stability and safety. Because the wall sat between neighbouring properties on sloping ground, access to the site was particularly challenging.

To complete the work safely and effectively, we coordinated closely with the neighbour above the wall to gain access from the top side of the site. This allowed the project to be carried out properly while minimising disruption and ensuring the best possible outcome for everyone involved.

Given the structural importance of the retaining wall, we also worked alongside local engineers to ensure the new design met all required safety and engineering standards. Proper retaining wall construction is critical, especially in areas with changing ground conditions and heavy rainfall, and engineered solutions help ensure long-term durability and performance.
